I am in the process of preparing a small illustrated talk and would like to know a little more about the arms quartering Birchells as recorded in the Cheshire Visitations of 1580. I copy below the pedigree and have added my own images of the arms. Does anyone know the origin of the arms Sable, three chevronells Or, each charged with as many fleurs-de-lis Gules ?
