At its sale of Important Watches, held as long ago as 29th November 2007, Christie's sold a rather splendid example of an armorial watch.

With nickel-finished lever movement, bi-metallic compensation balance, green translucent enamel cuvette on guilloché background, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals, gold Arabic five minute divisions, pierced hands, the finely pierced chased and engraved case decorated throughout, armorial shield to the reverse, bordered by Gothic decoration pierced to reveal the green enamel cuvetted behind, together with a similarly decorated fob depicting an armoured helmet and mask, surmounted by a crown and cascading feathers with an abundance of decorative foliage, case stamped with Patek Philippe Calatrava cross, dial and movement signed
27 mm diam.

I rather like it.
